Military Medical Discharge
18r
(Item Number on MedXPress Medical Application)
When Completing MedXPress on line application, this is 18.r but is actually included in part 2 (after 18.x). Just check yes or no, if there is a pending decision, check no and discuss with AME. You will have to revise if a pending is converted to a "yes" on the military discharge decision.

18.r. Military medical discharge. If the person has received a military medical discharge, the AME should take additional history and record it in Item 60 Comments. It is helpful to know the circumstances surrounding the discharge, including dates, and whether the individual is receiving disability compensation. If the applicant is receiving veteran's disability benefits, the claim number and service number are helpful in obtaining copies of pertinent medical records. The fact that the applicant is receiving disability benefits does not necessarily mean that the application should be denied.

Your AME will want to know the circumstances surrounding the discharge, including dates, and whether you are receiving disability compensation. If you are receiving veteran's disability benefits, the claim number and service number are helpful in obtaining copies of pertinent medical records. Try to include them in the MedXpress elaboration block. The fact that you are receiving disability benefits does not necessarily mean your application will be denied.
