Availability of Web Addresses

There can only be one account holder for every Web Address. This is why Web Addresses have to be registered. The first step in registering a Web Address is to make sure that the name you want has not already been registered by someone else. You can do that here.

.com, .net, .org

If you plan to use a Web Address for business, you should definitely register it in .com. Users know .com as the top-level domain for business. For even further protection of your online identity, consider registering your Web Address in all three top-level domains (.com, .net and .org).

Cost

Web Address registration costs $15 per year. Email me directly or go to our services page and we can help you with the registration process.

Creating Web Addresses

A Web Address can have up to 63 characters (including the .com, .net or .org). Letters, numbers and dashes (if they do not begin or end the name) are all valid. When entering the Web Address you want, do not include "www" or "http." You should, however, put .com, .org, or .net at the end of the address.

Domain Name

An Internet address or Web Address. The Domain Name system (DNS) translates Web Addresses into the numerical addresses (Internet Protocol numbers) used by a network.

Entering Web Addresses

A Web Address can have up to 63 characters. Letters, numbers and dashes (if they do not begin or end the name) are all valid. When entering the Web Address you want, do not include "www" or "http." You should, however, put .com, .org, or .net at the end of the name.

If your first choice is not available, consider looking up the same name with a slight variation.

Entering Keywords

First, think of two or three keywords that describe the identity you would like to build on the Internet. Enter them in the field provided and click the GO button. If you don't like the computer-generated options this produces, try entering different keywords.
