2001 Notice Archive

12/11/2001: The following update message was posted prematurely and should be disregarded until further notice: Please Note: A new version of AMCS/DIWS will be released on 12/12/2001. In this new version, upon clicking on the "Process Selection" button on the "Airman Search Result Page" you will notice a new page is displayed. You will be asked to select one of the following reasons for performing the exam:

  • Pilot who is NOT a FAA controller/employee/applicant needing an Airman Medical Certificate or an Airman Medical and Student Pilot Certificate.
  • FAA controller/employee/applicant needing a Medical Clearance.
  • Pilot who is also a FAA controller/employee/applicant.
Simply select the appropriate reason and click on the "Next Page" button. If you are unsure of which option to choose, you should contact your Regional Flight Surgeon. Also, you will notice a field labeled "AME Serial Number". In most instances, this field should be pre-populated with your AME Serial Number and you should not be required to enter any information in this field. However, if you should inadvertantly alter the information in this field, you should enter your AME Serial Number and click on the "Next Page" button.

06/29/2001: The Aerospace Medical Certification Division is requesting that, in addition to indicating the Certificate Action in Item 62, you write your AME serial number in Item 64 on the back of the FAA Original Copy. To repeat: please begin noting your AME Serial Number in Item 64.

03/01/2001: Happy New Year!! Please be sure that all dates (e.g. Exam Dates) correctly reflect the change in year.
